Introduction to Bio-medical Science: Tomorrows World
You may not see it but as freshman/women the number of old people in developed countries is rapidly increasing, and Korea is no exception. In thirty years when your professor retires he/she will not be the same person you first meet. They will probably walk with an artificial hip, a tissue engineered liver and their vital signs and position continuously monitored by wireless and satellite navigation. The success of tomorrow¢®?s world will depend on advances in Nanotechnology, Biomedical, and Biomaterials Science. Such advances are currently being made generating new economic opportunities and ensuring the future welfare of mankind.
A students Future: From day one each student will taught the three basic sciences (biology, chemistry, physics). All classes will be given in English by native speakers. Moreover each student will be able to access every lecture on line in at least two languages from the moment they enroll.
An Active Student: Students will be encouraged to frequently debate, the ethical, economical and social implications of their chosen field of study. They will be expected to identify future problems and develop pragmatic solutions, initiating new fields of research
Realizing a Students Potential; the student to professor ratio is one of the lowest in KOREA and East Asia and the progress of each student is closely monitored. Each student will be micro-mentored by a tri or bilingual professor in their major field of study.
International Environment: From next year every laboratory class will be given in English (first time Korea). Our aim is to produce international scientists, doctors and personnel who can work anywhere in the world. By actively promoting English in the laboratory, students will become accustomed to the atmosphere encountered in any international research environment.
Mapping a Career; At Kyungwon we offer tailored career paths that will help the student achieve their ambitions whether it is attending medical school ,enrolling on a PhD course or working in the financial industry.
Career Path: From the moment a student arrives at Kyungwon their dreams become our dreams. Every effort will be made by each member of our staff to ensure that all our students fulfill their aspirations.
