Introduction to Nanotechnology:

Without nanotechnology our future dreams will be somewhat limited. In the absence of young people where will the energy come from to monitor and assist the elderly. What technology will be available and how will the fabric of society remain together?. Such issues cannot be solved by an individual area of science but require an interdisciplinary approach involving scientists, engineers and physicians from many fields of research. By fusing the areas of Biomedical science and Nanotechnology new solutions and opportunities are being developed for a rapidly aging society. However nanotechnology not only offers solutions to the clinical sciences but provides answers to complex problems that occur in experimental and theoretically biology. Improvements in nanotechnology will allow us to synthesis and precisely measure the effect of new drugs. Develop implantable sensors that monitor the behavior of single cells and tissues post surgery. It is our belief that the fusion of biomedical science and nanotechnology will become one of the most exciting areas of research in the 21st century.

Primary Goal: Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of Nano Science and be encouraged to develop new areas of research in this new scientific field.

International Environment: From next year every laboratory class will be given in English (first time Korea). Our aim is to produce international scientists, doctors and personnel who can work anywhere in the world. By actively promoting English in the laboratory, students will become accustomed to the atmosphere encountered in most international research environments

Realizing a Students Potential; the student to professor ratio is one of the lowest in KOREA and East Asia the progress of each student is closely monitored. Each student will be micro-mentored by a tri or bilingual professor in their major field of study.

Mapping a Career; At Kyungwon we offer prescribed career paths that will help the student achieve their ambitions, whether it is attending graduate school, enrolling on a PhD course or working in a Blue Chip company.
