This
college nurtures those talents necessary for the globalized
era by promoting a greater understanding of the respective
languages and cultures of other countries and the development
of cultural ties. Each department is subdivided into majors.
The Literature major focuses on the history of literature,
literary theory, literary genres and creative writing
while Language Studies focuses on conversation, writing
and reading comprehension. The Language Studies major
also places particular emphasis on the perfection of practical
conversation skills and offers native language classes
and small study groups. |

Introduction to the Major |
This major aims to inspire students to
develop their creativity and affection for the Korean language through
the study of our language and culture.. The curriculum is divided
into two parts: Korean Language Studies and Korean Literature. Korean
Literature is then subdivided into classical literature and modern
literature.
This major places emphasis on the development of practical skills
through its creative writing courses which focus on both novel-writing
and poetry. The department also offers annual field trips to places
of literary interest. |
