Introduction to the Major
The objective of this department is to nurture mathematical information professionals and meet the needs of society by combining advanced mathematics with its application in natural sciences and applied engineering.
Students will study basic mathematics in depth during their freshman and sophomore years and the mathematical methods involving computer technology used in the fields of finance, insurance and information technology during their junior and senior years.
This major also enables students to advance on to graduate school where they can obtain their mathematics teachers' licenses or study related social fields.
