  Guidance Dept. of Integrative Studies
Kyungwon University, unlike any other existing academic system, operates the Dept. of Integrative Studies. This system is intended to give you more opportunities in selecting majors. There are more careers and related major fields than you may have thought before entering Kyungwon University and as a result, you may wish to spend the first year in Dept. of Integrative Studies. However, life in the Dept. of Integrative Studies will require responsibilities as well as abundant freedom. This is because you must perform various experiments actively and responsibly with the major you hope to take in mind. You must take a variety of classes in order to determine your future path, and then decide whether or not they meet your expectations. If these efforts prove successful, you will have made the most out of the opportunities offered by the Dept. of Integrative Studies.

(Free Major Selecting System)
Students will spend the first year under the Dept. of Integrative Studies. Therefore, you should consult the Educational Affairs Office of the College of Global General Education with any school-related issue that may arise. This should be your first contacts when you have a problem.
The Educational AffairsOffice will provide all necessary materials, including a roadmap, a class schedule and a university catalog.
The first principle of college life is self-regulation and responsibility. You are therefore encouraged to manage all matters relating to yourself. We recommend that you visit the Educational AffairsOffice bulletin board or homepage regularly where you will find all necessary information.
Major Allocation
The following information regards the allocation of majors to students admitted under the Dept. of Integrative Studies

1. Duration and Standard Application
1) Students admitted under the Dept. of Integrative Studies decide their major after obtaining permission from advising faculty members, department heads and deans during the designated application period and will start to take courses in their major from the first semester of the sophomore year upon approval from the President.
2) In principle, the Dept. of Integrative Studies students are allocated depending on the student's choice of major and whether or not departmental quotas have reached 120%. This does not include the Department of Early Childhood Education, Department of Nursing, medical sciences, arts, sports and engineering certification fields. However, the university may also limit departments to 100% of their admission quota depending on their individual capacities.
3) When students admitted to the Dept. of Integrative Studies temporarily leave, are expelled, or withdraw from the university, return or are readmitted, they should decide their majors at the same time as the other students admitted during the year.
4) In the case of students returning in the first semester of the sophomore year, students must apply for temporary leave or withdrawal after deciding their major.
5) When a student does not apply for major allocation, the dean may allocate the major with his/her official authority.
